Hi, I’m Mike — a professional guitar instructor with over 30 years of teaching experience and a degree in music composition. I’ve helped hundreds of students of all ages learn to play guitar with confidence and creativity.

My 14 year old and I both decided to learn electric guitar several months ago and after a few weeks in YouTube videos, took the step to have a real instructor. We’re both working with Mike K and the process has been excellent. Mike teaches core principles (chords, scales, etc) and then couples them with practice songs to reinforce the techniques. Probably a pretty common way to learn, but he takes the additional steps to spot and focus on good technique, dive into the occasional theory, and work in jam sessions to play along together.
